 Joanna Barbaria Tierno,   has provided our members with some important information about Immune Deficiency Diseases. 

 

Primary immunodeficiency diseases are a group of relatively rare conditions caused by intrinsic or genetic defects in the immune system; in fact the World Health Organization recognizes nearly 200 of these diseases that affect thousands of children and adults in the United States. Years ago, a diagnosis of a primary immunodeficiency meant extremely compromised lives, not just for the patients but for their families as well. Today, with early diagnosis and appropriate therapies, many patients with that same diagnosis can live healthy, productive lives.

300 Quarts of Pasta Fazul a Week

WEST BRIGHTON — When it comes to “pasta fazul,” Vincent D’Antuono, owner of Pastosa Ravioli, likes it old school.  Apparently his customers do too. That’s why the Forest Avenue shop goes through about 300 quarts of pasta fagioli (the real spelling), a week and that’s because “I make it thick and delicious, like the old days,” D’Antuono said.... Full story »
